  1. Conduct thorough inspections of industrial and commercial facilities to ensure compliance with wastewater regulations and pretreatment standards.
  2. Identify and document violations, issues, and potential hazards related to wastewater treatment and disposal.
  3. Communicate and educate business owners and stakeholders on regulations and best practices for wastewater management and treatment.
  4. Monitor and track data related to wastewater treatment and discharge, including effluent quality and compliance reports.
  5. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to address and resolve wastewater-related issues.
  6. Enforce regulations and take appropriate action against violators, including issuing notices of violation and coordinating with legal authorities.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and advancements in wastewater treatment technology.
  9. Conduct training and educational programs for businesses and industries to promote compliance and best practices.
  10. Act as a liaison between the city and businesses to address any concerns or questions related to wastewater regulations and compliance.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Wastewater Pretreatment Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Wastewater Pretreatment, Including The Clean Water Act And National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (Npdes) Permit Requirements.

  • Experience In Wastewater Treatment: Candidates Should Have Experience Working In A Wastewater Treatment Facility, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Inspection Role. This Will Ensure They Have A Good Understanding Of The Processes And Equipment Used In Wastewater Treatment And Can Effectively Identify Potential Issues.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: A Wastewater Pretreatment Inspector Must Be Able To Analyze Complex Data And Make Decisions Based On Their Findings. This Requires Excellent Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Job Of A Wastewater Pretreatment Inspector Involves Interacting With A Variety Of Stakeholders, Including Plant Operators, Engineers, And Community Members. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Build Positive Relationships.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Wastewater Pretreatment Inspector, Attention To Detail Is Crucial.
