Valid Driver's License: This Position Requires Candidates To Possess A Valid Driver's License With A Good Driving Record. It Is Important For Special Event Traffic Controllers To Have The Ability To Safely Operate A Vehicle While Performing Their Duties.
Traffic Control Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Traffic Control Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Traffic Safety Services Association (Atssa). This Certification Equips Individuals With The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Effectively Manage Traffic During Special Events.
Basic First Aid And Cpr Certification: In Case Of Any Medical Emergencies During A Special Event, It Is Essential For Special Event Traffic Controllers To Have Basic First Aid And Cpr Training. This Ensures Their Ability To Provide Immediate Assistance And Maintain The Safety Of Participants And Attendees.
Physical Fitness: This Job Requires Candidates To Be Physically Fit And Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time, Often In Adverse Weather Conditions. They Should Also Have Good Hand-Eye Coordination And The Ability To Lift And Carry Heavy Traffic Control Equipment As Needed.
