  1. Oversee and monitor compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies at the City of San Diego.
  2. Develop and implement compliance programs and initiatives to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  3. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop strategies to address them.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant laws and regulations, keeping abreast of any changes and ensuring that the organization remains in compliance.
  5. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure a consistent understanding and implementation of compliance standards and procedures.
  6. Train and educate employees on compliance regulations, policies, and procedures to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
  7. Investigate and respond to reports of potential compliance violations, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized records of compliance activities and findings, and prepare reports for senior management and relevant regulatory bodies.
  9. Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend updates to compliance policies and procedures as needed.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and integrity within the organization.
  11. Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all required licenses, permits, and certifications.
  12. Represent the City of San Diego in compliance-related meetings, conferences, and other events.
  13. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's compliance program and make recommendations for improvement.
  14. Mentor and support other compliance team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach to compliance efforts.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Law, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Compliance, Risk Management, Or A Related Field.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To The City Of San Diego.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Interpret Complex Legal And Regulatory Requirements.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Various Stakeholders.
