  1. Lead and mentor a team of plan review specialists to ensure the timely and accurate review of construction plans.
  2. Utilize expert knowledge of building codes and regulations to review and approve plans for a variety of construction projects.
  3. Collaborate with other city departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
  4. Conduct thorough and comprehensive reviews of plans to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with building standards.
  5. Provide guidance and support to plan review team members, including training and coaching on best practices.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for building professionals, contractors, and the general public regarding building codes and regulations.
  7. Evaluate and recommend updates to building codes and regulations to ensure the safety and sustainability of construction projects.
  8. Communicate with project stakeholders to address any concerns or issues related to plan reviews.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized records of plan review activities and approvals.
  10. Stay current on industry developments and advancements in building codes and regulations.
  11. Assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures related to plan review processes.
  12. Represent the city in meetings and presentations related to plan review processes and procedures.
  13. Collaborate with other city departments and stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements for plan review procedures.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  15. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the building industry.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Plan Review, Preferably In A Municipal Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Building Codes And Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Departments.

  • Proven Leadership And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
