- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the power plants in the City of San Diego, ensuring that they run efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement operational plans and strategies to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of electricity to the community.
- Monitor and maintain the power plants' equipment and systems, ensuring they are operating at peak performance and within regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with other departments and teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of electricity to customers.
- Supervise a team of power plant operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders to ensure the availability of necessary resources for power plant operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any potential safety hazards or operational issues.
- Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately and in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
- Stay informed about industry developments, new technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the power plants' compliance and efficiency.
- Serve as a liaison between the power plants and the community, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise and promoting a positive image of the City's power services.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Power Plant Operations And Maintenance.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience Managing A Team Of Operators And Technicians.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Power Plant Operations.
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Make Quick And Effective Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
