Job Description

  1. Provide exceptional customer service to library patrons by assisting with inquiries, providing resource recommendations, and resolving issues in a timely and friendly manner.
  2. Organize and maintain library materials, including shelving, cataloging, and processing new items.
  3. Assist patrons with research and technology needs, including navigating databases and online resources, troubleshooting technology issues, and providing instruction on library equipment.
  4. Utilize strong understanding of library operations and procedures to perform tasks such as checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines.
  5. Collaborate with other library staff members to plan and implement programs and events for the community.
  6. Maintain accurate records and reports of library activities and statistics.
  7. Stay up-to-date on library policies, procedures, and resources to accurately assist patrons and provide information to staff.
  8. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for community members, schools, and organizations seeking information about library services and resources.
  9. Assist with the training and supervision of library volunteers and student workers.
  10. Act as a liaison between patrons and library management, relaying feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  11. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  12. Continuously strive to improve customer service and find new ways to enhance the library experience for patrons.
  13. Maintain a neat and organized work environment, ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  14. Attend meetings and trainings as required to further develop skills and stay informed about changes in library operations.
  15. Adhere to all safety and security procedures to protect patrons, staff, and library assets.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library Science Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working In A Library Setting, With At Least 1 Year In A Supervisory Role.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills And Ability To Assist Patrons Of All Ages And Backgrounds.
