- Provide strategic insights: Use financial analysis to provide strategic insights and recommendations to support the City's budget planning and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other members of the finance team to gather and share information, and ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
- Communicate effectively: Communicate complex financial information and analysis in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders, including department heads, senior management, and elected officials.
- Conduct research: Conduct research on financial best practices, industry trends, and regulations to inform decision-making and improve processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models: Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support budget planning and forecasting.
- Monitor budget performance: Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports and updates to management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities: Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations for cost-cutting measures.
- Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Stay current on industry trends: Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices to continuously improve processes and provide valuable insights.
- Train and mentor junior analysts: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts to develop their financial analysis skills.
- Adhere to deadlines: Meet all deadlines for budget planning and reporting, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.
- Uphold ethical standards: Adhere to the City's code of ethics and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Economics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Financial Analysis, Preferably In A Government Or Municipal Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Financial Principles And Practices, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Financial Reporting.
Advanced Proficiency In Microsoft Excel And Financial Modeling.
