
Dispatcher II

- Coordinate emergency response: The Dispatcher II will be responsible for coordinating emergency response by dispatching appropriate resources to the scene of the emergency.
- Monitor and respond to calls: The Dispatcher II will be responsible for monitoring and responding to calls from the community, emergency services, and other agencies.
- Communicate effectively: The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating effectively with emergency responders, community members, and other agencies to ensure a prompt and appropriate response to emergencies.
- Remain calm under pressure: The Dispatcher II must be able to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during high-stress situations.
- Prioritize calls: The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing emergency calls and dispatching resources accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records: It is the responsibility of the Dispatcher II to maintain accurate records of all calls, dispatches, and other relevant information in a timely manner.
- Monitor equipment: The Dispatcher II will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all emergency equipment and reporting any malfunctions or issues.
- Train and mentor new dispatchers: The successful candidate may be responsible for training and mentoring new dispatchers to ensure they are capable of handling emergency situations effectively.
- Follow protocols and procedures: The Dispatcher II must adhere to all protocols and procedures set by the City of San Diego and emergency response agencies.
- Provide exceptional customer service: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all callers and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience As A Dispatcher With A Public Safety Agency Or Equivalent.
Proficiency In Utilizing Computer Aided Dispatch (Cad) Systems And Other Relevant Technology.
Knowledge Of Local Geography And Street Layout, As Well As Familiarity With City Of San Diego's Jurisdiction.
Ability To Multitask And Remain Calm Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Populations And Handle Sensitive Information.
