  1. Oversee the development and management of Mission Bay and Shoreline Parks in accordance with the City's goals and objectives.
  2. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the parks align with the City's overall vision and mission.
  3. Develop and implement plans and strategies for the preservation and enhancement of natural resources within the parks.
  4. Manage and allocate budget resources effectively to support park maintenance, improvement, and programming.
  5. Lead and mentor a diverse team of park staff, providing guidance and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
  6. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to support park initiatives and programming.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in parks and recreation management, and implement new strategies as needed.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to park management and operations.
  9. Represent the City at public events and meetings to promote and advocate for the parks.
  10. Foster a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability within the parks, and promote initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the City and park users, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate park performance and progress to City officials and stakeholders.
  13. Conduct regular evaluations of park operations and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
  14. Participate in the recruitment and hiring of park staff, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  15. Collaborate with other City departments to coordinate events and activities in the parks, and ensure a positive and safe experience for all visitors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Parks And Recreation, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Senior Management Role Within A Parks And Recreation Department.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Budgeting, Financial Management, And Grant Writing.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Park And Recreation Programs And Initiatives.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Partnerships With Community Stakeholders.
