
Recreation Leader, PT (Community Enrichment)

- Plan and organize recreational activities for individuals of all ages in the City of Pittsburgh.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for community members to participate in recreational programs.
- Lead and facilitate various recreational activities, such as sports, arts and crafts, and educational workshops.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during recreational activities.
- Communicate effectively with program participants, staff, and volunteers to ensure a positive experience for all involved.
- Collaborate with other city departments and organizations to coordinate and promote recreational events and programs.
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with recreational activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative recreational programs to meet the needs and interests of the community.
- Maintain accurate records of program attendance and evaluations to track program success.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in the field of recreation to continuously improve programs and services.
- Foster a positive and inclusive community culture through teamwork, respect, and professionalism.
- Represent the City of Pittsburgh and its values while interacting with community members, partners, and stakeholders.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or department leadership.
Experience In Planning And Implementing Recreational Programs: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Organizing And Leading Recreational Programs For Various Age Groups And Demographics Within A Community Setting.
Knowledge Of Community Resources: A Recreation Leader Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Local Community Resources, Such As Parks, Facilities, And Organizations, In Order To Effectively Utilize Them In Program Planning And Execution.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Involves Working Closely With Community Members, Volunteers, And Other City Staff. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Positive Relationships And Effectively Conveying Program Information.
First Aid And Cpr Certification: The City Of Pittsburgh Requires All Recreation Leaders To Hold Current First Aid And Cpr Certifications. This Ensures The Safety Of Program Participants In Case Of Emergencies.
Strong Leadership And Organizational Abilities: As A Recreation Leader, The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Manage And Supervise A Team Of Staff And Volunteers. They Should Also Possess Strong Organizational Skills To Successfully Plan And Coordinate Multiple Programs And Events Simultaneously.
