
Recreation Leader, Healthy Active Living (Part-time)

- Develop and implement engaging and diverse recreational programs and activities for all age groups in the community.
- Promote healthy and active lifestyles by creating and organizing fitness classes, sports leagues, and other physical activities.
- Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations to expand and enhance the Healthy Active Living program.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all participants in the program.
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with program activities and events.
- Communicate effectively with program participants, city officials, and community members to promote the program and gather feedback.
- Maintain program budgets and ensure all expenses are within allocated funds.
- Monitor program success and gather data to evaluate and improve program offerings.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants by following established safety protocols.
- Serve as a role model for healthy and active living by participating in program activities and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- Keep updated on industry trends and best practices in fitness and recreation to continuously improve the program.
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of the program to increase participation and community awareness.
- Maintain program facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Handle any participant complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent the City of Pittsburgh and the Healthy Active Living program at community events and meetings.
A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Leading And Coordinating Recreational Activities, With A Focus On Promoting Healthy And Active Lifestyles.
A Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Or A Related Field.
Current Cpr And First Aid Certifications.
Knowledge Of Various Recreational Activities, Including Sports, Fitness Classes, And Outdoor Recreation.
Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Age Groups.
