Job Description

Welcome to the City of Pittsburgh's Recreation team! We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Recreation Leader 1. As a Recreation Leader, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage community members of all ages through a variety of recreational activities and programs. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong sense of creativity, leadership, and teamwork.   1. Develop and implement engaging and diverse recreational activities and programs for community members of all ages.
  2. Lead and supervise recreational activities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  3. Collaborate with other Recreation team members to plan and coordinate events and programs.
  4. Act as a positive role model and mentor for community members, promoting inclusivity and teamwork.
  5. Monitor and maintain recreational equipment and facilities to ensure safety and proper functioning.
  6. Communicate effectively with community members, addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports of program attendance, feedback, and any incidents that may occur.
  8. Assist with recruitment and training of volunteers to support recreational programs.
  9. Stay informed of current trends and best practices in recreational programming to continually enhance offerings.
  10. Uphold the mission and values of the City of Pittsburgh's Recreation team, promoting a sense of community pride and engagement.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Previous Experience Working In A Recreational Setting, Preferably In A Leadership Role.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Interacting With Diverse Groups Of Individuals.

  • Strong Organizational And Time Management Abilities To Plan And Coordinate Recreational Activities And Events.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Protocols For Recreational Activities, Including Cpr And First Aid Certification.
