- Lead, supervise, and manage a team of police officers in their daily duties and responsibilities.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency.
- Serve as a role model for team members, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and dedication to serving the community.
- Conduct regular trainings and workshops to enhance team members' knowledge and skills.
- Act as a liaison between team members and upper management, relaying important information and updates.
- Assign and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of workload.
- Monitor team members' performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching as needed.
- Collaborate with other departmental leaders to coordinate and plan joint operations and initiatives.
- Respond to and handle critical and emergency situations, providing guidance and support to team members.
- Stay updated on current laws and regulations related to law enforcement and ensure team members are in compliance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and camaraderie among team members.
- Act as a representative of the City of Pittsburgh Police Department, attending meetings and events as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to team activities and incidents.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As A Police Officer With A Proven Track Record Of Leadership And Successful Team Management.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Or Related Field.
Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Lead And Motivate A Team Of Police Officers.
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws, As Well As Department Policies And Procedures.
Ability To Make Quick And Effective Decisions In High-Pressure Situations And Handle Conflicts With Professionalism And Tact.
