  1. Provide critical medical care to individuals in emergency situations.
  2. Respond to emergency calls and provide efficient and effective medical treatment.
  3. Assess patient's condition and determine appropriate course of action.
  4. Administer medication and perform advanced life support procedures as needed.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other emergency personnel.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.

  9. Work collaboratively with other emergency services personnel to provide seamless care.
  10. Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment.
  11. Stay updated on current medical practices and attend trainings and continuing education courses.
  12. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and compassion towards patients and their families.
  13. Remain calm and composed in high-stress and fast-paced situations.
  14. Uphold the values and mission of the City of Pittsburgh and the paramedic department.
  15. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards coworkers and the community.
  16. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  17. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  18. Provide support and assistance to other emergency personnel as needed.
  19. Participate in department meetings and trainings.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Paramedic Certification From An Accredited Institution Or Program.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Paramedic In A High-Volume Emergency Response Environment.

  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications.

  • Proven Ability To Effectively Assess And Treat Patients In Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Well With Other Emergency Personnel And Communicate Effectively With Patients And Their Families.
