We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Investigator at the Citizen Police Review Board (CPRB).As an Investigator at the CPRB, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring that police conduct is held to the highest standards and that complaints from community members are thoroughly and impartially investigated. Your work will directly impact the safety and well-being of our citizens and contribute to building trust between law enforcement and the community.To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of investigative techniques and procedures, as well as excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Additionally, you must have a deep commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and justice for all.   1. Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into complaints against law enforcement officers.
  2. Gather and analyze evidence, including witness statements, video footage, and other relevant materials.
  3. Interview complainants, witnesses, and law enforcement officers to gather information and assess credibility.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigations and report findings to the CPRB.
  5. Collaborate with other investigators and staff to share information and ensure consistency in investigative processes.
  6. Stay up-to-date on laws, regulations, and policies related to law enforcement and conduct investigations in accordance with these guidelines.
  7. Communicate effectively with community members, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to provide updates on investigations and address any concerns.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  9. Provide recommendations for policy changes and improvements based on investigative findings.
  10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance investigative skills and knowledge.
  11. Conduct research and analyze data related to law enforcement practices and complaints to identify trends and patterns.
  12. Represent the CPRB in meetings and public forums to promote transparency and accountability in law enforcement.
  13. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
  14. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to fairness, justice, and equal treatment for all community members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Conducting Investigations, Preferably In A Law Enforcement Or Government Agency.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Procedures Related To Investigations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Gather And Present Information.

  • Proficiency In Utilizing Various Investigative Techniques, Including Interviews, Surveillance, And Evidence Collection.
