
Immigrant and Refugee Affairs Manager

- Develop and implement initiatives and programs to support the integration and success of immigrant and refugee communities in Pittsburgh.
- Serve as a liaison between the city government and immigrant and refugee communities, advocating for their needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with community organizations, non-profits, and other government agencies to provide resources and services to immigrants and refugees.
- Conduct outreach and engagement efforts to build trust and relationships with immigrant and refugee communities.
- Provide guidance and support to city departments on issues related to immigrants and refugees, such as language access and cultural competency.
- Develop and maintain a database of resources and services available to immigrant and refugee communities in Pittsburgh.
- Stay updated on immigration policies and laws at the local, state, and federal levels and provide recommendations for city policies and initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, events, and forums to educate and raise awareness about immigrant and refugee issues.
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, including immigrants, refugees, city officials, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, and make adjustments as needed to better serve immigrant and refugee communities.
- Develop and manage a budget for the Immigrant and Refugee Affairs department.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff members and volunteers to assist with department initiatives and programs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on department activities, initiatives, and outcomes.
- Represent the City of Pittsburgh at conferences, meetings, and other events related to immigrant and refugee affairs.
- Uphold the city's commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all residents.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Social Work, International Relations, Or Public Administration.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working With Immigrant And Refugee Communities, Preferably In A Managerial Or Leadership Role.
Strong Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Policies And Regulations Related To Immigration And Refugee Services.
Demonstrated Experience In Program Development, Implementation, And Evaluation For Immigrant And Refugee Populations.
Excellent Communication Skills, Including Fluency In At Least One Foreign Language Commonly Spoken By Immigrant And Refugee Communities In Pittsburgh.
