
Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator

As the second-in-command to the Emergency Management Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and coordinating emergency management plans and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. - Develop and implement emergency management plans and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
- Assist the Emergency Management Coordinator in coordinating and leading emergency response and recovery efforts during disasters and crises.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the community.
- Collaborate with other city departments, agencies, and community organizations to coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Train and educate city employees, first responders, and community members on emergency management protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate emergency response plans and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain and update emergency management resources, including equipment, supplies, and communication systems.
- Coordinate and participate in drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency plans.
- Serve as a liaison with state and federal emergency management agencies and participate in regional emergency planning committees.
- Supervise and provide guidance to emergency management staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide support and guidance to on-site emergency personnel.
- Stay informed about new developments and best practices in emergency management and incorporate them into the city's preparedness plans.
- Prepare reports and presentations on emergency management activities and initiatives for city officials and the public.
- Represent the city at conferences, workshops, and training sessions related to emergency management.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information related to emergency management operations.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Or Related Field.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders And Community Members.
Certification In Emergency Management, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Emergency Management Professional (Emp).
