  1. Develop and implement strategic communication plans to promote the city's initiatives and messaging.
  2. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the city, responding to media inquiries and coordinating interviews.
  3. Collaborate with various city departments to gather information and ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms.
  4. Create and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure positive coverage of the city's initiatives and events.
  5. Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception of the city, providing regular reports to city officials.
  6. Manage and oversee all city social media accounts, ensuring timely and engaging content.
  7. Coordinate and manage press conferences, interviews, and other media events.
  8. Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan to address any potential issues or negative publicity.
  9. Conduct media training for city officials and staff to ensure effective communication during interviews and public appearances.
  10. Provide guidance and support to city officials and staff on effective communication strategies and messaging.
  11. Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to promote and amplify the city's messaging and initiatives.
  12. Stay current on communication trends and best practices, implementing innovative strategies to effectively reach a diverse audience.
  13. Manage the communications budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  14. Represent the city at public events and serve as a liaison with other government agencies and community partners.
  15. Uphold the city's values and mission, promoting transparency and accountability through effective communication with the public.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Communications Or Public Relations Role, Preferably In A Government Setting.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Create And Deliver Compelling Messages To Various Stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Executing Strategic Communication Plans.

  • Strong Understanding Of Media Relations And The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Local Media Outlets.
