
Assistant Superintendent, Parks

In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our city's beautiful parks and green spaces. - Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the city's parks and green spaces.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall appearance and functionality of parks.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to plan and execute park improvement projects.
- Monitor and maintain park budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Supervise and train park staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular inspections of parks to ensure they are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Respond to and address any park-related complaints or concerns from residents and visitors.
- Develop and enforce park rules and regulations to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all users.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in park management and make recommendations for implementation.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement initiatives to promote the city's parks and encourage community involvement.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on park activities, expenses, and performance.
- Collaborate with city officials and other stakeholders to develop long-term plans for the improvement and expansion of parks.
- Serve as a liaison between the city and park maintenance contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to park management.
- Represent the city at meetings, events, and conferences related to park management.
A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Park Management Or Related Field, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Overseeing Park Operations And Staff.
A Bachelor's Degree In Parks And Recreation Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field. A Master's Degree Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Park Maintenance And Development Practices, Including Budgeting, Contract Management, And Project Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Such As City Officials, Community Groups, And Park Users.
Strong Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Motivate And Manage A Diverse Team Of Park Staff, As Well As Develop And Implement Strategic Plans For Park Improvement And Growth.
