  1. Oversee and enforce all building codes and regulations within the city of Pittsburgh.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve code enforcement processes and procedures.
  3. Manage a team of code enforcement officers and provide guidance and support to ensure effective and efficient enforcement.
  4. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and properties to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  5. Investigate complaints and issues related to code violations and take appropriate action to address them.
  6. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to address code enforcement issues and promote community safety.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community organizations, to promote compliance with codes and regulations.
  8. Develop and present reports and recommendations to city officials and make suggestions for improvements to code enforcement policies and procedures.
  9. Stay updated on changes to building codes and regulations and ensure that all enforcement activities are in compliance.
  10. Train and educate code enforcement officers and other city employees on code enforcement policies and procedures.
  11. Communicate effectively with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to promote understanding and compliance with codes and regulations.
  12. Represent the city in code enforcement hearings and court proceedings as needed.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation of code enforcement activities.
  14. Monitor and manage budget and resources allocated for code enforcement activities.
  15. Act as a role model and mentor for code enforcement officers, promoting a positive and professional work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Code Enforcement Or Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of City Codes, Laws, And Regulations Related To Building, Zoning, And Property Maintenance.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Effectively Manage A Team Of Code Enforcement Officers.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Interacting With Residents, City Officials, And Other Stakeholders.
