- Provide legal counsel to the city government on a wide range of municipal law issues.
- Represent the city in municipal law matters, including but not limited to litigation, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support the city's legal strategies and decisions.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and policies.
- Advise city officials and departments on legal matters and potential risks.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to ensure consistency and accuracy in legal advice and representation.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions that may impact the city.
- Build and maintain relationships with city officials, stakeholders, and outside counsel.
- Assist in developing and implementing legal strategies to promote the city's goals and objectives.
- Participate in community outreach and education programs to inform residents about the city's legal processes and services.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest level of ethical standards.
- Mentor and supervise junior legal staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Attend meetings, hearings, and other events on behalf of the city as required.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the City Solicitor.
Juris Doctor Degree From An Accredited Law School With Admission To The Pennsylvania Bar.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Practicing Municipal Law, Preferably In A Large City Or Urban Environment.
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Municipal Operations And Governance.
Strong Analytical, Research, And Writing Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Concepts To Non-Legal Stakeholders.
Experience Representing Municipal Government In Litigation, Negotiations, And Other Legal Matters, With A Track Record Of Successful Outcomes.
