Job Description

Plan, organize, coordinate, implement and administer major housing development and redevelopment and emergency housing programs and projects. Develop and administer loan programs to fund affordable housing. Draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex legal agreements with developers, governing financing and implementation of housing development projects. Prepare finances, resolutions, and staff reports for the City Council and the Oakland Redevelopment Agency. Prepare Requests for Proposal; evaluate bids and prepare recommendations on awards. Research and prepare long-range plans and special studies to meet program goals and objectives. Select, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate staff. Respond to public inquiries regarding housing programs. Organize and participate in interdepartmental, community, and regional meetings.

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of experience comparable to a Housing Development Coordinator

  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to housing development and finance

  • Ability to Manage workloads by setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines for completion of assignments.
