  1. Lead the development and implementation of the city's sustainable and equitable development projects.
  2. Collaborate with city officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify and address key development needs and priorities.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and funders to secure necessary resources and support for development projects.
  4. Develop and oversee project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely completion of projects.
  5. Provide strategic direction and guidance on project goals, objectives, and strategies to align with the city's overall development plans.
  6. Monitor and evaluate project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure project success and compliance with regulations.
  7. Develop and implement strategies to engage and involve community members in the development process, promoting transparency and inclusivity.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to development projects.
  9. Supervise and mentor project staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  10. Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in urban development to inform project strategies and approaches.
  11. Represent the city and its development efforts at meetings, conferences, and other events.
  12. Continuously assess and improve development processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Create and maintain project reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  14. Communicate project updates and progress to city officials, stakeholders, and the public.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Project Management And Leadership, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Local Government Policies, Procedures, And Regulations, With A Strong Understanding Of The City Of Oakland’s Specific Policies And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders, Including City Officials, Community Members, And Project Team Members.

  • Proven Ability To Develop And Manage Complex Budgets, Allocate Resources, And Oversee Project Finances.

  • Bachelor’s Or Master’s Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Public Administration, Urban Planning, Or Business Administration, With A Record Of Continuous Professional Development And Training.
