- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
- Act as a positive role model for campers, promoting good behavior and positive attitudes.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow counselors.
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of snacks and meals.
- Follow and enforce all camp rules and safety protocols.
- Assist in resolving conflicts and addressing any behavioral issues that may arise.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.

Experience Working With Children: A Day Camp Counselor At City Of O'fallon Should Have Prior Experience Working With Children In A Camp, School, Or Recreational Setting. This Experience Should Demonstrate An Understanding Of Child Development, Behavior Management Techniques, And The Ability To Engage And Interact With Children Of Various Ages.
First Aid And Cpr Certification: The Safety And Well-Being Of Campers Is A Top Priority At City Of O'fallon. A Day Camp Counselor Should Be Certified In First Aid And Cpr, And Have The Ability To Respond Quickly And Appropriately In Case Of An Emergency.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Day Camp Counselor, You Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Campers, Parents, And Other Staff Members. This Requires Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Listen And Respond Effectively To Concerns And Questions.
