We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Water Safety Instructor to join our team and help ensure the safety of our residents in and around the water.As a Water Safety Instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals of all ages by teaching them critical water safety skills. - Develop and implement water safety curriculum for individuals of all ages.
- Conduct water safety classes in a safe and effective manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Teach essential water safety skills, including but not limited to swimming techniques, rescue techniques, and CPR.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all participants, including regular inspection and maintenance of equipment.
- Demonstrate a patient and friendly demeanor while instructing individuals of varying ages and abilities.
- Educate participants and their families on the importance of water safety and how to prevent water-related accidents.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors to ensure the smooth operation of water safety programs.
- Stay updated on current water safety practices and techniques, and incorporate them into curriculum as needed.
- Serve as a role model for water safety and promote a positive and enjoyable environment for all participants.
- Adhere to all city policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations regarding water safety.
- Respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations, following proper emergency protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of participants' progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with other water safety instructors and city staff to plan and coordinate special events and activities related to water safety.
- Continuously evaluate and improve water safety programs to ensure their effectiveness and relevance to the community.
Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Teaching Swimming And Water Safety Classes.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Participants Of All Ages And Backgrounds.
Strong Knowledge Of Water Safety Principles And Techniques, Including First Aid And Cpr.
Ability To Pass A Background Check And Drug Screening.
