  1. Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all city facilities, including parks, streets, buildings, and public spaces.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of city facilities and infrastructure to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  4. Maintain and repair equipment, tools, and vehicles used in the maintenance process.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  6. Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
  7. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to complete maintenance projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Respond to maintenance requests from city residents and businesses in a professional and courteous manner.
  10. Assist with special projects and events as needed.
  11. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For The Position Of Maintenance Worker At City Of Los Alamitos. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Literacy To Understand Instructions And Perform Tasks Effectively.

  • Previous Experience In Maintenance Or Related Field: Candidates With Prior Experience In Maintenance, Construction, Or A Related Field Will Be Preferred For The Position. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Performing Tasks Such As Plumbing, Electrical Work, And Carpentry.

  • Ability To Operate And Maintain Tools And Equipment: The Maintenance Worker Will Be Responsible For Operating And Maintaining Various Tools And Equipment, Such As Power Tools, Lawn Mowers, And Vehicles. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Safely Operate And Maintain These Tools.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: This Position May Require Lifting Heavy Equipment Or Materials, Standing For Extended Periods, And Performing Physically Demanding Tasks. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Have The Stamina And Strength To Perform These Tasks.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is A Must For The Position Of Maintenance Worker At City Of Los Alamitos. This Is Necessary For Operating City Vehicles And Transporting Equipment And Materials To Different Job Sites. Candidates Must Have A Clean Driving Record And Be Able To Obtain A Commercial Driver's License If Required.
