  1. Develop and implement strategies for securing grants and funding for cultural programs and events in the community.
  2. Conduct research to identify potential funding sources and stay updated on grant opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with the Cultural Affairs department and other city departments to identify funding needs and develop grant proposals.
  4. Write compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate the value and impact of cultural initiatives in the community.
  5. Manage the grant application process, including gathering necessary documentation, ensuring timely submission, and tracking progress.
  6. Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, applications, and outcomes.
  7. Communicate with potential funders and maintain positive relationships with current funders.
  8. Work closely with program managers and stakeholders to gather information and data for grant proposals.
  9. Monitor and track grant funding to ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
  10. Collaborate with the finance department to manage grant budgets and financial reporting.
  11. Keep up-to-date on trends and changes in the grant funding landscape and make recommendations for improving the grant acquisition process.
  12. Represent the Cultural Affairs department at community events and meetings to promote and advocate for cultural initiatives and funding needs.
  13. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of grant-funded programs and provide reports to stakeholders and funders.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with diverse stakeholders and community members.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of the City of Jersey City and the Cultural Affairs department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Arts Administration, Cultural Studies, Or Nonprofit Management.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Grant Writing And Administration, Preferably In A Cultural Or Arts-Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Local And National Funding Opportunities For Arts And Cultural Organizations, As Well As Experience With Government Grants And Contracts.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Build Relationships With Potential Funders.
