Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Fire Protection Inspector. As a Fire Protection Inspector, you will play a vital role in conducting inspections and enforcing fire codes to ensure compliance and minimize potential hazards.   1. Conduct routine inspections of commercial and residential buildings to ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations.
  2. Identify potential fire hazards and provide recommendations for corrective actions to property owners.
  3. Enforce fire safety regulations and issue citations or notices of violations when necessary.
  4. Maintain accurate records of all inspections and violations, and prepare reports for management.
  5. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to coordinate fire safety efforts and resolve any issues.
  6. Conduct educational workshops and presentations to promote fire safety awareness and prevention.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current fire codes and regulations to ensure compliance and make necessary updates to city policies.
  8. Respond to and investigate complaints related to fire safety concerns.
  9. Assist in emergency situations, including fires and other disasters, to ensure public safety.
  10. Serve as a resource for the community by answering questions and providing information on fire safety measures.
  11. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with property owners, residents, and other stakeholders.
  12. Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively address complex fire safety issues.
  13. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in conducting inspections and documenting findings.
  14. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and training to enhance knowledge and skills in fire prevention.

Job Qualifications
  • 3-5 Years Of Experience In Fire Protection Inspection Or Related Field.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Fire Codes And Regulations.

  • Certification As A Fire Inspector I And Ii By The National Fire Protection Association (Nfpa).

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Property Owners And Other Stakeholders.

  • Ability To Conduct Thorough And Accurate Inspections, Identify Potential Hazards, And Make Recommendations For Corrective Action.
