Job Description

As the Chief Policy and Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission to ensure access to safe and affordable housing for all individuals and families. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader who possesses a strong understanding of housing policies and regulations, as well as the ability to navigate complex compliance issues.   1. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing regulations and laws.
  2. Monitor and analyze changes in housing policies and regulations, and provide recommendations for updates and improvements.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries and concerns.
  4. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to housing policy and compliance standards.
  5. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for increasing affordable housing opportunities.
  6. Provide training and guidance to staff on housing policies and compliance requirements.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  8. Prepare and submit reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as required.
  9. Identify and address any potential compliance issues or violations in a timely manner.
  10. Maintain knowledge of best practices and industry trends related to affordable housing policies and compliance.
  11. Represent the City of Jersey City at meetings, conferences, and other events related to housing policy and compliance.
  12. Uphold and promote the City's commitment to social equity and diversity in all aspects of the job.
  13. Serve as a role model and mentor for staff, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
  14. Develop and manage the department's budget in alignment with the City's goals and objectives.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve policies and procedures to ensure the City's affordable housing mission is being met.
