Chief Financial Officer

The City of Jersey City is seeking a passionate and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial and accounting operations. Reporting to the Mayor and working closely with all departments, the CFO will have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on the City's financial health and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have the leadership skills and experience to develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that ensures the City’s financial stability, accountability and compliance.The successful CFO must possess a minimum of 8 years of financial management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field is required, as is a CPA license. The CFO must have a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and possess the financial acumen to analyze complex financial data and identify areas for improvement. Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills will be essential for success in this role.
