  1. Support and maintain the technology systems used by the public safety departments of the City of Irvine.
  2. Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing public safety technology.
  3. Monitor and troubleshoot technology systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  4. Collaborate with other team members to implement new technology solutions that will enhance public safety efforts.
  5. Conduct research on emerging technologies and how they can be utilized in the public safety field.
  6. Train and educate public safety personnel on the use of technology systems.
  7. Regularly review and update technology policies and procedures to ensure they align with industry best practices.
  8. Analyze data and generate reports on the effectiveness of technology systems in improving public safety.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements in technology and make suggestions for implementing them in public safety efforts.
  10. Act as a liaison between the public safety departments and external technology vendors to ensure systems are meeting the needs of the City of Irvine.
  11. Maintain accurate documentation of technology systems and procedures.
  12. Respond to technology-related emergencies and provide timely solutions.
  13. Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information within the public safety technology systems.
  14. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to identify opportunities for cross-functional technology initiatives.
  15. Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technology systems in public safety efforts.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working In A Public Safety Technology Role, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Public Safety Technology Systems And Applications, Including Cad, Rms, And Mobile Data Terminals.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices And Standards For Data Security And Privacy.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Complex Technical Issues.
