- Conduct patrols and respond to calls for service in a timely and professional manner.
- Enforce federal, state, and local laws and ordinances to ensure public safety.
- Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence for criminal cases.
- Provide assistance and support to other law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Engage with the community and build positive relationships through community-oriented policing initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records and reports.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with the public, colleagues, and other agencies.
- Use sound judgment and critical thinking skills in high-stress situations.
- Uphold the values and standards of the City of Irvine and the police department.
- Continuously train and develop skills to stay updated on new laws, techniques, and technology.
- Adhere to the department's policies and procedures.
- Serve as a role model for new officers and assist with their training and development.
- Participate in community events and programs to promote public safety and crime prevention.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for community members, particularly youth.
- Conduct oneself professionally and ethically at all times.
Completion Of A Peace Officer Standards And Training (Post) Certified Police Academy, With A Valid Basic Post Certificate.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Full-Time Experience As A Sworn Peace Officer In A Municipal Or County Law Enforcement Agency.
Possession Of A Valid California Driver's License And A Satisfactory Driving Record.
Must Be A United States Citizen Or Permanent Resident Alien Who Is Eligible For And Has Applied For Citizenship.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Make Sound Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
