Job Description

The City of Irvine is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual to join our team as an Extended Part-time Animal Care Attendant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to care for a variety of animals and make a positive impact in their lives. We are looking for someone with previous animal care experience and a strong dedication to providing excellent care to our furry friends.   1. Provide daily care and maintenance for a variety of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health and well-being.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for the animals, including their living areas and common areas.
  3. Greet and assist visitors and potential adopters, providing information about the animals and promoting responsible pet ownership.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor.
  5. Observe and report any changes in animal behavior or health to the supervisor.
  6. Assist with animal handling and transportation as needed.
  7. Conduct thorough and accurate record-keeping, including animal intake, medical records, and adoption paperwork.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of the animals and staff.
  9. Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance animal care skills and knowledge.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
  11. Represent the City of Irvine and its animal care policies and procedures in a professional and courteous manner.
  12. Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the animals and the organization.
  13. Uphold the highest standards of animal care, welfare, and ethical treatment.
  14. Possess a strong commitment to the mission and values of the City of Irvine and its Animal Care Services.
