Job Description

Welcome to the City of Irvine! We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Specialist. As a key member of our community engagement efforts, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact and help shape the future of our city.   1. Develop and implement community outreach strategies to engage and connect with the diverse population of Irvine.
  2. Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and activities to promote community involvement and increase awareness of city initiatives.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and community organizations to identify and address community needs and concerns.
  4. Create and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and residents to foster a sense of partnership and collaboration.
  5. Serve as a spokesperson for the city and effectively communicate its mission, goals, and programs to the community.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community outreach efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
  7. Develop and distribute marketing materials, including social media content, to promote community events and initiatives.
  8. Respond to inquiries and concerns from community members in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Maintain accurate records and data related to community outreach activities and initiatives.
  10. Stay informed about current events and issues relevant to the city and its residents.
  11. Attend community events and meetings to represent the city and gather feedback from residents.
  12. Collaborate with other city departments to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to community engagement.
  13. Stay up-to-date on best practices in community outreach and incorporate new ideas and strategies into current efforts.
  14. Assist with the development and management of the community outreach budget.
  15. Uphold the city's values and promote a positive image of Irvine through all community outreach efforts.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Community Development, Social Work, Or Public Administration.

  • Experience Working In Community Outreach Or Engagement, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Local Government Processes, Procedures, And Regulations Related To Community Outreach And Engagement.

  • Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, With The Ability To Effectively Engage With Diverse Populations.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Plan And Execute Successful Community Outreach Programs And Events, Including Developing Partnerships And Collaborations With Community Organizations.
