Job Description

Welcome to the City of Irvine! We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Animal Care Attendant. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry residents.   1. Provide excellent customer service to visitors and potential adopters, answering any questions and providing information about the animals.
  2. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals, including cleaning cages, feeding and providing water, and administering medication.
  3. Observe and report any changes in behavior or health of the animals to the appropriate staff.
  4. Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during medical procedures and examinations.
  5. Work closely with the veterinary staff to ensure the animals receive necessary medical care.
  6. Maintain accurate records of animal intake, adoptions, and medical treatments.
  7. Help with the adoption process, including conducting interviews and completing necessary paperwork.
  8. Assist with the organization and execution of community events and outreach programs.
  9. Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying/neutering.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  11. Stay up-to-date on animal welfare laws and regulations.
  12. Continuously strive to improve the quality of care for the animals and provide a positive experience for visitors and potential adopters.
  13. Represent the City of Irvine and its mission of promoting a compassionate and responsible community.
