Job Description

Welcome to the City of Irvine! We are currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Technician Apprentice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills while supporting our finance department. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, highly organized, and have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.   1. Assist in the daily operations of the finance department by performing tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and filing.
  2. Learn and gain practical experience in basic accounting principles, including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  3. Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks and projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  4. Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation for review and analysis by senior accounting staff.
  5. Participate in training and development opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in the field of accounting.
  6. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing exemplary customer service and support.
  7. Identify and report any discrepancies or errors in financial records, and assist in implementing corrective measures.
  8. Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to accounting practices and procedures.
  9. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Embrace a growth mindset and actively seek feedback to continuously improve and develop as an accounting professional.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Accounting Technician Apprentice At City Of Irvine Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
