- Conduct regular inspections of properties within the city to ensure compliance with housing and zoning codes.
- Identify and document any violations of codes and work with property owners to address and resolve them.
- Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to address any issues related to housing and zoning compliance.
- Educate property owners and residents on housing and zoning codes and their importance in maintaining safe and sustainable communities.
- Keep accurate records and reports of all inspections and violations.
- Attend meetings and trainings to stay updated on any changes or updates to housing and zoning codes.
- Work closely with city officials and community members to address any concerns or complaints related to housing and zoning compliance.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that violations have been addressed and resolved.
- Provide recommendations for improvement and updates to housing and zoning codes based on current industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with property owners and residents.
- Assist with the enforcement of penalties and fines for non-compliant properties.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of housing and zoning codes in promoting safe and healthy living environments for all residents.
- Keep abreast of any new developments or construction projects in the city and ensure they comply with all housing and zoning codes.
- Conduct research and investigations as needed to address any potential violations or issues related to housing and zoning compliance.
- Serve as a liaison between the city and other agencies or organizations involved in housing and zoning regulations.
A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Building Codes And Zoning Regulations, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Housing And Zoning Laws, Ordinances, And Regulations.
Strong Analytical Skills And Attention To Detail, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Legal Documents And Technical Drawings.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With A Diverse Range Of Stakeholders, Including Property Owners, Developers, And City Officials.
A Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Or A Related Field, Or Equivalent Work Experience In A Relevant Area. Professional Certifications And Licensure, Such As Certified Building Official Or Certified Zoning Inspector, May Also Be Required.
