
Emergency Management Staff Officer

- Develop and implement emergency management plans, policies, and procedures to mitigate potential risks and respond effectively to crisis situations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and collaborate with other city departments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the community.
- Train and educate city staff, first responders, and community members on emergency preparedness and response protocols.
- Coordinate and lead emergency response drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and analyze emergency data and trends to inform decision-making and improve emergency management strategies.
- Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to coordinate resources and response efforts during emergencies.
- Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies, during emergency situations.
- Communicate critical information and updates to city officials, stakeholders, and the public during emergency situations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of community outreach and education programs to promote emergency preparedness and response.
- Continuously assess and update emergency management plans to ensure they are in line with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Emergency Management Planning And Response.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Various Stakeholders.
Certification In Emergency Management, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Professional Continuity Practitioner (Pcp), Preferred.
