- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Identify and document potential safety hazards or violations and work with construction teams to address and resolve them.
- Review construction plans and blueprints to ensure accuracy and compliance with city codes and regulations.
- Communicate and collaborate with construction project managers, contractors, and other city officials to provide guidance and ensure adherence to standards.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all inspections, findings, and actions taken.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that any identified issues have been resolved.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to construction and provide recommendations for updates or changes as needed.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to construction inspection.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to construction inspection.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for citizens, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding construction compliance and safety.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input and suggestions for improvement in construction inspection processes.
- Uphold the integrity and reputation of the City of Honolulu by consistently enforcing construction standards and regulations.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Construction Inspection Or A Related Field.
Proficiency In Reading And Interpreting Construction Plans And Specifications.
Knowledge Of Building Codes, Regulations, And Standards, Specifically Those Pertaining To The City Of Honolulu.
Strong Communication Skills, Both Oral And Written, To Effectively Communicate With Contractors, Engineers, And Other Stakeholders.
Ability To Use Various Tools And Equipment For Conducting Inspections, Such As Measuring Devices, Safety Equipment, And Computer Software.
