  1. Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with labor unions representing City employees.
  2. Serve as a primary point of contact for all labor relations matters, including contract negotiations, grievances, and arbitration hearings.
  3. Stay up-to-date on relevant employment laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance and inform decision-making.
  4. Act as a mediator and facilitator in labor disputes, utilizing effective communication and negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial resolutions.
  5. Provide guidance and support to department managers and supervisors on labor relations issues, including disciplinary actions and employee grievances.
  6. Conduct thorough research and analysis of labor relations data to inform decision-making and develop strategies for improving employee relations.
  7. Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure consistent and fair treatment of employees in all labor-related matters.
  8. Create and implement training programs for managers and supervisors on labor relations policies, procedures, and best practices.
  9. Participate in the development and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, providing input on behalf of the City and advocating for the best interests of both parties.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized records of all labor relations activities, including grievances, negotiations, and arbitration outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Labor Relations, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Labor Relations, Preferably In A Government Or Municipal Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Labor Laws, As Well As Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Resolve Conflicts And Maintain Positive Relationships With Employees And Unions.

  • Experience In Drafting And Implementing Policies And Procedures Related To Labor Relations, Including Grievance And Arbitration Processes.
