Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents by coordinating emergency responses and dispatching appropriate personnel.   1. Receive and process emergency calls from the public, quickly gathering necessary information and dispatching appropriate response units.
  2. Monitor and prioritize incoming calls, determining the level of urgency and providing necessary instructions or assistance to callers.
  3. Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls and dispatch activities, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
  4. Utilize various communication systems and technologies to dispatch emergency personnel and coordinate responses with other agencies as needed.
  5. Monitor and respond to alarm systems and other emergency alerts, taking appropriate action and notifying necessary personnel.
  6. Provide support and assistance to emergency response units in the field, relaying important information and updates as needed.
  7. Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities to ensure timely and efficient responses.
  8. Collaborate with other dispatchers and emergency personnel to share information, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a cohesive team environment.
  9. Continuously monitor and evaluate emergency response procedures and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  10. Communicate with and provide updates to supervisors and other city officials regarding emergency situations and dispatch activities.
  11. Attend trainings and maintain knowledge of emergency protocols, procedures, and equipment to ensure effective and efficient responses.
  12. Act as a resource for the public, providing information and assistance as needed and maintaining a positive and helpful attitude at all times.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to all department policies and procedures.
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
