Job Description

Reviews plans, specifications and sites for construction projects. Inspects the construction of surface street improvements. Inspects subgrade and base grade for compaction, alignment, grades and materials. Reviews detour plans, haul routes and erosion control plans. Inspects grading, fine grading and irrigation systems. Maintains logs, records, record drawing (as-builts). Prepares and checks progress payments, reduction and releases of securities, Notices of Completion and minor engineering reports. Keeps miscellaneous records and prepares reports as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • 2 years of public works construction experience in a municipality or subprofessional engineering experience.

  • Experience in engineering construction methods and materials used is highly desirable.

  • Ability to inspect routine and difficult projects for compliance with plans and specifications.
