Plumbing Inspector

This is skilled inspectional work in securing compliance with codes, ordinances and regulations governing old and new plumbing installations. An employee inspects plumbing installations to determine whether plans, workmanship and materials conform to legally established specifications and requirements. The employee is responsible for reporting fully and accurately all violations and for taking official action to ensure compliance. The employee normally works independently on field inspections, making decisions requiring the use of technical judgment and discretion; however, he/she consults with a superior on the more difficult or unusual cases.
