- Ensure the safety of all patrons at the aquatic facilities.
- Supervise and train a team of lifeguards to maintain a high level of safety and professionalism.
- Monitor and enforce rules and regulations to prevent accidents and maintain order.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the facilities and equipment.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to any emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patrons, and management regarding safety procedures and concerns.
- Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and maintenance issues.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and address any questions or concerns.
- Ensure that all lifeguards are properly trained and certified.
- Assist with scheduling and assigning duties to lifeguard staff.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and organize events and activities at the aquatic facilities.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve safety procedures and protocols.
Lifeguard Certification: A Valid Lifeguard Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Red Cross Or The Ymca Is A Must-Have Qualification For A Head Lifeguard At City Of Calabasas. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Effectively.
Previous Lifeguard Experience: The Ideal Candidate For A Head Lifeguard Position At City Of Calabasas Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Lifeguard, With Some Experience In A Supervisory Role. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Handle Various Situations And Lead A Team Of Lifeguards Effectively.
First Aid And Cpr Certification: In Addition To A Lifeguard Certification, A Head Lifeguard Should Also Have A Valid First Aid And Cpr Certification. This Will Ensure That They Can Provide Immediate Assistance In Case Of Any Emergencies Or Accidents.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Head Lifeguard, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Their Team, Other Staff Members, And The Public. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role.
Knowledge Of Pool Operations: A Good Understanding Of Pool Operations, Including Water Chemistry, Pool Maintenance, And Pool Safety Protocols, Is Crucial For A Head Lifeguard. This Will Help Them Ensure That All Safety Procedures Are Followed, And The Pool Is Maintained To The Highest Standards.
