We are currently seeking an experienced IT Application Analyst with a focus on Application Patching & Management to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our various applications through regular patching and updates.   1. Manage and maintain all applications used by the City of Austin through regular patching and updates.
  2. Develop and implement effective strategies for application patching and management.
  3. Monitor and troubleshoot application issues, identifying and resolving any technical problems that may arise.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient patching and updates of all applications.
  5. Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in application patching and management.
  6. Create and maintain documentation for all application patching and management processes.
  7. Work closely with vendors and external partners to ensure timely delivery of patches and updates for third-party applications.
  8. Communicate with stakeholders about scheduled downtimes and potential impacts of application patching and updates.
  9. Develop and maintain a testing environment to ensure the stability and compatibility of new patches and updates.
  10. Proactively identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in applications and recommend solutions to mitigate them.
  11. Train and mentor team members on application patching and management processes and procedures.
  12. Participate in IT projects and initiatives related to application patching and management.
  13. Collaborate with the IT security team to ensure compliance with security standards during application patching and updates.
  14. Continuously review and improve the application patching and management processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Represent the City of Austin in a professional manner and uphold the organization's values and mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In It Application Patching And Management.

  • Proficiency In Programming Languages And Operating Systems, Such As Java And Windows.

  • Strong Understanding Of Software Development Life Cycle And Project Management Methodologies.

  • Experience With Application Deployment And Troubleshooting In A Large Enterprise Environment.
