Oversee and manage a team of maintenance workers to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
Develop and implement a maintenance schedule for city facilities, including but not limited to streets, parks, buildings, and equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of city facilities to identify and address any maintenance needs.
Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute maintenance projects and repairs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance activities and expenses.
Train and mentor maintenance staff on proper procedures and safety protocols.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of equipment and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks.
Respond to and resolve any maintenance emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance maintenance processes.
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
Keep up-to-date with new technologies and techniques in the maintenance field.
Develop and manage budget for maintenance department expenses.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including city officials and community members.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Job Qualifications

Experience In Building Maintenance: A General Maintenance Supervisor At City Of Austin Should Have Prior Experience In Overseeing Building Maintenance Operations, Including Knowledge Of Hvac Systems, Plumbing, Electrical, And Other Related Areas.
Leadership Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Maintenance Technicians And Contractors, Create Work Schedules, And Delegate Tasks.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Procedures To Ensure A Safe Working Environment For Employees And Compliance With City Regulations.
