Welcome to the City of Austin! We are currently seeking a Forensic Technical Leader to join our dynamic team. As the leader of our forensic technical division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of forensic evidence used in criminal investigations.   1. Oversee the daily operations of the forensic technical division, including managing a team of forensic analysts and technicians.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of forensic evidence.
  3. Conduct thorough and timely reviews of all forensic reports and evidence to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to forensic analysts and other team members.
  5. Stay updated on advancements and best practices in the field of forensic science and implement them within the division.
  6. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and legal teams to gather and analyze evidence for criminal investigations.
  7. Train and mentor team members on proper evidence collection, handling, and analysis techniques.
  8. Manage the budget for the forensic technical division and allocate resources effectively.
  9. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to ensure continuous improvement.
  10. Represent the division in meetings with stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, court officials, and community organizations.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols related to forensic evidence.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all forensic activities and reports.
  13. Develop and maintain relationships with external forensic experts and consultants.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise in the division.
  15. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Digital Forensics, Incident Response, And Computer Crime Investigations.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Computer Hardware, Software, Networks, And Operating Systems.

  • Experience In Leading And Managing A Team Of Forensic Analysts And Investigators.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standard Forensic Tools And Techniques, Including Encase, Ftk, And Open Source Tools Such As Autopsy And Volatility.
