The City of Austin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Electric Power Grid (EPG) GIS Analyst III (Field Ops). As part of our Austin Energy team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our electric power grid and ensuring reliable and efficient service for our community. - Conduct GIS analysis and mapping for the electric power grid, including creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date maps and data sets.
- Utilize GIS software to analyze and visualize complex data related to the electric power grid, such as infrastructure, customer usage patterns, and outage information.
- Collaborate with field operations teams to gather data and ensure accuracy and completeness of GIS data.
- Develop and maintain GIS data standards and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
- Identify and troubleshoot GIS data issues and work with other teams to resolve them.
- Train and support other team members on GIS software and processes.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices in GIS analysis and electric power grid management.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new GIS tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of grid management.
- Act as a subject matter expert on GIS data and analysis, providing guidance and support to other departments and stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports and updates on GIS data and analysis to management and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in the field.
- Represent the city and Austin Energy in a professional manner at all times.
- Collaborate with other GIS analysts and teams within the organization to share knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to the electric power grid.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Bachelor's Degree In Geography, Geographic Information Systems (Gis), Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Gis Data Management And Analysis, Preferably In The Electric Power Industry.
Proficiency In Working With Gis Software, Including Arcgis, Arcfm, And Autocad.
Knowledge Of Electric Power Grid Infrastructure, Including Distribution And Transmission Systems.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, Dynamic Environment And Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Team Members And Stakeholders.
