Welcome to the City of Austin! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as the Drainage Operations and Maintenance Crew Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of a crew involved in the operation and maintenance of the city's drainage system.   1. Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the drainage operations and maintenance crew.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the performance of crew members, providing guidance, training, and feedback as needed.
  3. Plan and assign tasks to crew members based on their skills and abilities.
  4. Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  5. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any equipment issues.
  6. Communicate with other departments and city officials to coordinate work and address any concerns.
  7. Conduct regular inspections of the drainage system to identify areas in need of maintenance or repair.
  8. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to ensure the long-term functionality of the drainage system.
  9. Enforce safety protocols and ensure all crew members are following proper safety procedures.
  10. Collaborate with city engineers and contractors to plan and execute larger drainage projects.
  11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in drainage maintenance.
  12. Represent the city and the drainage department at public meetings and events.
  13. Facilitate communication and maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  14. Manage and track the budget for the drainage operations and maintenance department.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the crew's work.

  • Leadership And Team Management Skills: The Drainage Operations And Maintenance Crew Lead Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Workers, So They Should Have Proven Experience In Leading And Managing A Crew Effectively.
