  1. Install and maintain electrical systems and equipment in the city's distribution system.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  3. Repair or replace faulty equipment or components in a timely manner.

  5. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Distribution Electrician At City Of Austin Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Meet The Minimum Education Requirement For The Job.

  • Valid Electrician License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Electrician License Issued By The Texas Department Of Licensing And Regulation (Tdlr) Or Any Other State Recognized Licensing Authority.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Electrical Distribution Systems: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Electrical Distribution Systems. This Experience Should Include Installation, Repair, And Maintenance Of Power Lines, Transformers, And Other Related Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Regulations And Procedures: Distribution Electricians At City Of Austin Are Required To Have A Strong Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Procedures Related To Electrical Work. This Includes Knowledge Of Osha Standards And Regulations.

  • Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints And Schematics: The Job Of A Distribution Electrician At City Of Austin Involves Reading And Interpreting Blueprints And Schematics To Identify And Troubleshoot Electrical Issues. Therefore, Candidates Must Have The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings Accurately.
